New Orleans Plantation and Kayak Swamp Tour
New Orleans Kayak Swamp Tours is excited to now offer plantation tours. This experience will combine with the kayak swamp tour for those looking for a full day of adventure and learning. Guests will start out the day visiting Whitney Plantation and Museum where they will learn the story of slavery specific to New Orleans. Originally known as Habitation Haydel, this plantation has been described as one of the most interesting in the South. This guided walking tour will be followed by a lunch stop at B&C Seafood Restaurant where guests will have the opportunity to sample local Cajun favorites like gumbo and alligator andouille. After a satisfying lunch the group will head over to Maurepas Swamp where they will be guided through 100 year old Cypress and Tupelo Groves that are ghostly covered by Spanish Moss. This area is part of a wildlife refuge and the wildlife here is in abundance. Waterproof cases are available so that phones for pictures can be kept dry.
